It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but the ARCO Lab team has had a busy winter! In addition to working hard on courses and research, we set up our first server, the Robotic Analysis and Intelligent Computation HUb (RAICHU) in a new lab space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the fall semester, everyone was rightfully exhausted from teaching and taking courses on microrobotics, state estimation, scientific computation, and more. We took a break to go bowling at University Lanes<\/a>, followed by dinner at Caro on James<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of January, we found out that our collaborative work with HeART Lab<\/a> on Optimal Magnetic Actuation SysTem ARrangement (OMASTAR) was accepted at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2025<\/a>! Congratulations to Hussein for assisting HeART Lab’s Veerash Palanichamy with applying a convex relaxation to a tricky binary integer programming formulation of permanent magnet placement. This is a milestone achievement: the first ICRA paper involving an ARCO Lab graduate student. Bravo! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Professor Giamou had the pleasure of visiting the Northeastern University Robust Autonomy Lab (NEURAL)<\/a> over reading week in February! It was his first visit since finishing his postdoctoral researcher position in 2023, and he was welcomed by new and familiar friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
